Hi! My name is Sammy and I’m a sweet, lovable 2 yr. old Lab/Border Collie mix. I was rescued from a local pound when my ”time was up” and my owner never showed up to bail me out. But have no fear, the HSFM came to my rescue and brought me to their shelter. They promised to find me a new home, where I would be loved and cherished forever. However, I must say, I’m a bit bummed that this has not happened yet. I’ve already waited nearly 7 months for someone to pick me, but no matter how nicely I sat in a kennel, no matter how sad my “puppy dog” eyes were…I was never chosen. Luckily, this nice lady came and offered to foster me. I’m not quite sure what that means–but I sure love it! I have a feline friend in my foster home, whom I love to pick on…but watch out! When she’s tired of my antics, she let’s me know and to be honest, I’m a bit scared of her but I know she just wants me to be on my best behavior…and of course, after a good swat on the nose, I always am. I love being in a home and I’m always told I’m such a “good dog”…so why is it that I still have no place to call home? Will you please change that…give me a home and love me forever? Please? Love, Sammy

Looking to Volunteer? We have several opportunities available for adult volunteers, however, we do not have any junior volunteer opportunities available at this time. We have many opportunities available! Please fill out a volunteer application today! We now have an application for regular volunteers, and one for junior volunteers (16 and younger).

We are in need of foster care families for some of our pets, including pregnant or nursing cats and dogs. Foster care is a no-cost-to-you arrangement and we will provide all the necessary supplies—you supply the love! If you are interested, please fill out the application available here.

Notice: Our animals stay with us until they are adopted, and sometimes, this means an extended stay at our shelter. To make their stay as comfortable as possible, we would like to give our cats and dogs Kuranda beds. You can help us by donating one to our facility through the Kuranda Beds website. Just click on the link and then select “North Dakota” under the “Search by state” tab. Select “FM Humane Society” and it will take you to a page that shows which beds we are in need of. Thank you!

The majority of our cats are housed in kennels. In order to make their stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible, we provide our cats with the Stretch and Scratch cat scratchers. You can help our cats by clicking on the Stretch and Scratch link and donating a full box or half of a box to our shelter. You can have them sent to FM Humane Society 1201 28th Ave. N Fargo, ND 58102. Thank you!
